The past month has been a crazy one, which is why I am looking forward to celebrating National Chardonnay Day on May 25th! (let’s be honest, do I really need an excuse to drink good wine? Nope.)
When it comes to making major decisions, like leaving a 15 year career, I am so thankful for my husband & close friends who always support me. I met my husband, Donnie, in college and we have been together ever since. From big milestones to important choices, I know I can count on him to have my back. His advice and encouragement makes me feel like I am going in the right direction.
I also want to give a shout out to my besties, who patiently listened to me ramble off the pros and cons of leaving my job. I am very lucky to have a small group of girlfriends I can be COMPLETELY honest with, no matter what the topic. I know they won’t judge me (at least, they don’t admit it, at first… ha!) and they genuinely have my best interests at heart when giving me advice.
Take a look at the people close to you. Do they support you and lift you up? Do they encourage your dreams and ideas, or mock you for them? If you are not getting the confidence you need, then maybe it is time to tighten up your support circle! My small but mighty support system helped me make the leap from TV to public relations. Now I am one week in, and while it is early, I can already see that I made the right choice. 
All that is left to do now is celebrate! With National Chardonnay Day this month, I am highlighting one of my favorites by Wente Vineyards. Wente has been around since the late 1800’s and has been dubbed the “First Family of Chardonnay.” In fact, many of the chardonnays you drink today originated from grape vines cut from the Wente family that were labeled and shared among other wineries decades ago.
