Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Review

I have serious under eye circles, something I have discussed on this blog in the past. So when I saw that Influenster was sending me the Kat Von D Lock-It concealer VoxBox I was beyond excited. I actually HAD a tube of this in my online cart at Sephora.com, along with $70 worth of other items. (doesn’t everyone fill their cart with stuff they want, remember your budget then quickly slam your laptop shut? I can’t be the only one)

Anyway, this VoxBox is by far my favorite (and I have received some pretty awesome boxes through Influenster) since I feel like it was tailored just for me. It came with 2 Lock-It Concealer Cremes, a Lock-It Setting Powder and TWO brushes. A Lock-It Powder Brush and the life-changing Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush.

Lock-It Concealer Creme: The VoxBox contained 2 full-sized concealers in colors L5 & L11. L5 is very light and I have been using it as a highlighter down the bridge of my nose and to prime my eyelids. L11 is what I have been using under my eyes and I could probably use one shade darker, but I make it work. It is also summer, so I have a feeling it will match perfectly in the winter. I am SUPER picky when it comes to under eye concealers but this is one of my new favorites. It has awesome coverage and blendability. It doesn’t settle into the fine lines under my eyes which is a HUGE must-have when it comes to concealers for under my eyes. Every concealer settles a tiny bit usually a few minutes after applying, but once I fix it, I don’t want it to come back. This did not re-settle the entire day. Huge bonus. On top of that, the Lock-It concealer stayed on until I washed it off. It looked just as good at night as it did when I applied it at 6:30 in the morning. I would 100% buy this again and I am thinking of buying it one or two shades darker so I can mix and match to get my perfect shade.

Lock-It Setting Powder: This is a good setting powder, but it seems pretty basic to me. The powder is more on the white side, as opposed to translucent so I really had to blend it out. It stays matte all day and sets the concealer perfectly. This setting powder is way better than my ELF powder, but not as amazing as my Ben Nye porcelain powder.

Lock-It Setting Powder Brush: These brushes are both amazing quality. I don’t have a brush this size or shape, but it is perfect for setting my makeup. The bristles are super-soft. I don’t normally use larger powder brushes like this… so I kind of don’t know what to do with it, if you can’t tell!

Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush: I am OBSESSED with this brush. I currently use a Sigma round concealer brush to apply a orange-based concealer first (something I mentioned in a recent post about under eye circles) and I was going to buy another one to use for my regular concealer I apply over it, but not anymore. This brush is perfect. It allows me to pat in the Lock-It concealer creme and blend it out without pulling or tugging the delicate eye area. I cannot say enough good things about this brush, it is my new favorite.

There you go! My review of the awesome Kat Von D Lock-It vox box. I am not obligated to write about these VoxBoxes on the blog, but these items were just too good not to share with you guys! (I’ve only done one other post on a VoxBox, and I have received a ton) Thank you, Influenster!
